Not many Manchester United legends get the chance to be honored on the front of The Stretford End and when Paul Scholes announced his retirement from the game in 2011 many though it would be to late. Stretford End Flags paid tribute to Paul by creating the GENIUS mosaic for his testiminial last August. However a shock announcement in January 2012 saw Paul Scholes return to Manchester United.

As the season fast approaches, we have sought ideas for a new Stretford End banner and Manchester United fans have stated a preference for a banner paying tribute to our Ginger Genius. Fans have worked together to create 2 designs that we hope will be a fitting tribute. The two designs are both inspired by The Stone Roses, a group who also made a triumphant return in 2012.

The 2 designs can be seen below and you can vote for which banner you would like made, by registering on the SEF FORUM and voting on the free poll. the winning banner will then be made for The Stretford End and we hope to have this in place for the 2nd home game of the season against Wigan.

This is tough, because I love the Barca picture on the left of the "Adored" one. But I'll have to go with The 2nd coming purely for the wording.

The "ADORED" one is fantastic

Both good designs. I think adored is just a bit more to the point. I definitley think a small '19' or 'x19' banner should be produced. A simple, subtle nod to the clubs biggest achievement, nothing to clever or over elaborate. No images or word play accompanying it, just a straightforward space saving banner, ideal tyo go in the corner where the ticker banner once was.

Again I like them both, I guess if it is to stay for a long time then Adored would be better but if it was for a one season thing then The Second Coming makes much more sense and would be better! Not very helpful

It has to be the Adored Flag, its quality & very fitting for such a legend! However and as he has been known by his trademark shirt number for all the years he's been with us can we have the number 18 showing on his shorts instead of John O'Shea's old 22 number which he has had to inherit since his comeback.

Gotta be the 'Adored' one, i like 'the second coming' but to be honest it felt like he never went away from the team in the first place!
