The Flowers of Manchester

The Flowers of Manchester

As has now become tradition, the singing of "The Flowers of Manchester" takes place before the nearest home game to the 6th February.

Prior to Tuesdays home game with Stoke City, Pete Martin from the Salford based folk group 'Hanky Park' will commence the singing at 7pm under the Munich plaque.

Supporters are encouraged to attend and to join in with the singing.

The words to "The Flowers of Manchester" can be found at http://munich58.co.uk/the-flowers-of-manchester/ and they can be downloaded and printed off.

Whilst copies of the song will be handed out on the night, these are limited in number and we ask, if possible that supporters also print out one or two copies that can be shared with fellow supporters.

Pete Martin will also be leading the singing of "The Flowers of Manchester" underneath the Munich Plaque on February 6th at 3pm and again supporters are encouraged to attend.

The Munich plaque can be located on the corner of the East Stand, as you approach the Munich tunnel and the South Stand.

Paul Scholes returns - Possible SEF banner?

Paul Scholes has made a dramatic return to Manchester United and several supporters have asked if we would make a Paul Scholes banner? SEF never got the chance to make a banner for Scholes, yet we did provide a mosaic for his testimonial game last August. to join in the debate or to submit your banner design idea, then visit the SEF Flag Forum here.

The Sir Alex 25 year banner will be taken down in time for this weekends Bolton game and the other Stretford End banners will be back on the stand. We hope to use the Sir Alex banner at other times during the season.

Would you favour an Old Trafford Singing section?

Manchester United songster and supporter Pete Boyle is leading the call for a singing section to be estblished in East Stand lower, something which Stretford End Flags fully supports.
Currently, the acoustics within Old Trafford make the atmosphere hard to hear around the ground.
The atmosphere from the old Stretford End Tier 2 singing section cannot be heard at the East Stand end of Old Trafford. The current Old Trafford atmosphere is at an all time low, supporters are giving up tickets as they no longer enjoy the atmosphere and the players call for them to be inspired by the crowd and the support. Establishing a singing section in the lower tiers allow the fans to be more widely seen, especially by the players and for the atmosphere to travel better around the ground. Unfortunately, Stretford End lower contains an exec section, so this area would not work an as such, East Lower has been suggested.

Have your say on the creation of a singing section and plave your VOTE on the matter by joining in the discussion and vote on the SEF FORUM HERE
