The observant amongst you have noticed, the City Ticker banner, which pays tribute to Man City's Trophyless Years, was not present for Wednesday nights friendly game with Valencia. This has lead to enquiries from several members of the press and supporters alike, who thought its removal was in response to City's "Welcome to Manchester" poster or even removed in fear of City actually winning a trophy!!!! SEF can confirm that its removal was to simply update the banner and to rotate the counter between the 33 and 34 years. The City barren years continue to tick on and the banner will continue to remind them of this. If only Robinson Crusoe had such a visible reminder whilst stuck on his desert island, or Noah whilst floating about in his Ark, all lenghty spells that didnt last as long as City's MASSIVE hunt for a trophy! The City ticker banner is designed to progress as each trophyless year passes, with a series of numbers installed inside the banners design, that get rotated a couple of times a season, showing the full year on the 28th February. The banner will be back in place for Uniteds home game against Birmingham, but in the meantime, that doesnt stop you from laughing at City...ha ha ha!
