Who Are We ?

The banners that have adorned the Stretford End in recent seasons have been removed, the result of a majority vote from those that contributed to them. They do not want their banners in the stadium whilst Malcolm Glazer is in charge. That is their choice, their right and we can all appreciate the reasons why that decision has been made.

However, we feel there are a significant number of United fans that still wish to watch Manchester United Football Club, support Manchester United Football Club and attend Old Trafford despite the arrival of Malcolm Glazer. None of us are pro Malcolm Glazer, none of us support his arrival but at the same time, none of us are prepared to let him drive us away from supporting the team we love.

We are a group of fans that would like to see some new banners put up in the Stretford End, and are in the process of trying to organise this. We were doing so before the recent announcement from the Club. We want the Stretford End covered by banners that we, as fans, want, that we, the supporters, have chosen and that mean something to us, not faceless flags chosen by the Club. Final designs will be chosen my majority vote, anybody can submit a design or idea. A message board will be available to discuss the various options.

We, the organisers of this group, are all loyal match going fans, who have years of watching United under our belts. This however is not about us, this is not about Malcom Glazer or any one individual. This is simply about Manchester United Football Club and its supporters getting behind the players and manager as they have done for 127 years of their exsitence.

What we do not want is for this to end up in arguments between fellow supporters. Everyone is entitled to their viewpoint and as fellow supporters we should respect each other. We are not enemies and should never treat each other in that way. We would ask everyone whether in favour of this action or not to please refrain from attacking each other whether verbally, physically or through the internet.

We have 127 years of history, players, managers and supporters who have made this club what it is today - we want to continue that tradition.

Remember whether in favour of this action or not the one thing that has made Manchester United supporters stand alone above anyone else has been our unity. We've been through bad times together and cried tears of sorrow and we came out the other end. We've cried tears of joy together, and one day hopefully we will stand side by side and be United again.
